Pressure-treated wood is considered a very strong and durable material. It’s treated with preservatives and other chemicals to extend its life and protect the wood using a pressurized process. This treatment protects against any rot, decay, and possible termite attacks. Pressure-treated fences are considered safe for you and your family and pets when used per the Safe Handling Information Sheet. Pressure Treated wood fence can be stained, varnished and/or painted once it cures according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Cedar is also an excellent choice of wood for fencing, as it contains natural oils that repel insects. Cedar is also resistant to rot, which gives it a longer life compared to other types of wood.
